My son bought me a mast tour rotary pen for Christmas. I’ve been a tattoo artist for 38 years and have used coil machines my entire career. I have tried various rotary machines and never liked any of them, I find them to slow for my style of tattooing. I was very reluctant to use the pen machine having been disappointed with the other “quality” brands I’ve tried. However I gave it a try and loved it. I enjoyed using it so much I did a portrait with it the other day. I used the wireless battery that came with it and it completed the tattoo using only a quarter of the battery’s power in 4 hours. I was gob smacked (surprised). I’ve been so impressed I ordered a mast archer, I’m now a convert to dragon hawk mast pens I’ve retired my coil machines.
I’ve been a tattoo artist for 38 years, I’ve tried many rotary machines over the years and never got on with any of them, I prefer coils, they are simply to slow for my way of working. However I used the tour pen to work on a portrait of David Bowie and was very impressed. Not only did it shade well it packed in the solid black as quickly as my coil machines. I’ve been so impressed that I bought an archer, which I like and have ordered a wireless tour pro, and flip. I’ll leave a review on them as I use them.
